Essential Compositions: Interactive Stand at in-cosmetics Global 2025
Essential Compositions is an interactive brand experience designed for in-cosmetics Global 2025 in Amsterdam, the world's leading event for personal care ingredients. The project launched the brand’s new identity through a synesthetic installation embedded in the stand’s architecture, exploring the concept of "perceptible presence" to stand out in a competitive trade fair environment.
The installation features four vertical screens integrated into the stand walls, displaying fragrances as AI-generated digital sculptures. These visuals materialize the scent composition, transforming raw olfactory notes into dynamic, high-fidelity 3D motion graphics.
The core of the experience relies on a real-time interaction system developed in TouchDesigner and powered by a Kinect tracking system. This setup detects visitor proximity and gestures, triggering a complex particle simulation. As users interact, the digital flowers disintegrate into moving particles, visually representing the diffusion of scent and creating a direct dialogue between the user's movement and the visual evolution.
Additionally, the project involved the complete 3D visualization of the stand, simulating the spatial integration of these interactive screens within the venue. This pre-visualization ensured a seamless blend between the architectural constraints of the fair and the digital storytelling layers, optimizing visitor engagement.
